Koralnik is the proud member of an EU special force killing squad. He leads an efficient life without friends or companions – and without assignments either. And when after eight years of waiting his first mission finally arrives, he gets swamped in a chain of unlucky accidents, from broken-down cars to severed toes, a wedding punch-up, manic colleagues and this woman who he just can not get rid of. And while his superiors try in vain to make head or tails of the chaos, Koralnik realizes that the system has long ago collapsed in on itself. This absurd and laconic killer comedy marks a long-overdue return to genuinely original genre fare in the German film and TV landscape. Overly dramatic lighting and the tongue-in-cheek atmosphere of a 50s noir B-movie mix incredibly well with bloodcurdling slapstick and the performances of Benno Fürmann and Mavie Hörbiger, who noticeably delight in taking a BOURNE premise and shredding it through both the European bureaucracy and German provincialism.
