Guerilla Köche

Documentary | DE 2013 | OV

Max and Felix, both in their mid-20s, have learned their trade the hard way in Michelin-starred establishments, and they are obsessed with cooking. Their vision: a top fine dining restaurant of their own. Their way of getting there: eight months of travel across Asia, all along seeking out dishes and chefs for inspiration. The two Berlin natives travel through eight countries and twenty-five cities – an exciting trip from simple roadside food stalls to international haute cuisine. New things can be learnt (almost) anywhere. The guys drink cobra blood, try fried tarantula, and learn how to prepare aromatic water spinach within seconds. They taste fresh whale meat at the world’s largest fish market, and they experience molecular gastronomy in perfection. Guerilla Cooks is a sensuous, adventurous, humorous coming-of-age story that is about friendship, pioneering spirit, successes and setbacks, fascinating encounters – and a farewell that turns out harder to go through with than expected.
