My Greatest Escape

Documentary | FR 2009 | 107' | Subtitled English

His prison breaks were movie material: he copied cell keys, kept policemen in check with a fake gun carved out of soap, and had himself lifted by a helicopter from the roof of a high security facility twice. Frenchman Michel Vaujour spent 27 years behind bars – he was able to escape five times. Largely focusing on his face and voice, filmmaker Fabienne Godet has made a captivating portrait of this king of escape artists, who has been living in freedom since 2003. She does not need much more to impart the charm and the intelligence of this son of two ordinary administrative workers.
